By far the best investment I’ve made for my photography career! The Red Leaf online workshop has taken me to the next level. Beautifully presented – visually delicious – the workshop has sooo much to offer photographers at any level, from advanced to just beginning. Richard and Amy haven’t missed a thing in covering all a photographer could need, clearly written and easily understandable, all with example images to help further visually solidify the lesson. And, the workshop keeps expanding with the continual addition of new in-depth lessons. The beautiful thing is that I can go back over and over again at my own pace, as often as I like, from the comfort of my own home. And, I haven’t even mentioned the amazing Photoshop actions Red Leaf offers!! I have a ton of “other” actions purchased over the past couple of years, but since I started using the Red Leaf actions, I find I rarely use all the other actions I’ve invested in. Richard and Amy have the actions dialed in and my workflow has definitely benefited as a result! It’s funny but I just happened upon their photography site one day and was immediately drawn to the warmth and style of their photography – and then to discover they offered an online workshop – it was just perfect! Haven’t looked back since!  -Amy Jensen

Hi I have been a member of the workshop community since November and though I would like to come and visit the pages more often – life, work etc intrude. But tonight when I came to the pages I just have to share with you how beautiful I find your work, the layout of the workshop, and the continuity through out. I appreciate all that you are sharing – heart and soul – and more than that I appreciate you are doing this genuinely with no attempt to earn ROCK STAR status – you are a rock to me in the sea of wannabees – let them wanna and you just be. Thank you for the refreshing honest open approach you make this place for others. Wishing you well. And thank you again. -Crackle Bingham

I have been following Red Leaf blog for over a year now, so when I found out about their online workshop, I was ecstatic! Not only was their price reasonable, but I new it was going to be a great resource I would have access to for an entire year. Since starting their online workshop, I have learned how to take properly exposed images in camera, understand different qualities of light, and create unique images with perspective and composition. This is hands down the best money I have ever invested for my business. Thank you for all your hard work Richard and Amy.  -Maggie Fortson

We’ve been loving all the useful knowledge shared on the Red Leaf Cinema workshop. It is full of valuable insights and inspiration. The information shared has helped us refine our post-production workflow making our studio much more efficient, increasing our productivity and decreasing our time in front of the computer!! The section on lighting and posing was extremely helpful and has assisted us on many shoots. The easy to follow layout of the workshop is packed with photos, videos and interactive books which makes the learning experience attractive and fun. We would highly recommend it to any and all photographers. Mahalo Amy and Richard for spreading all your wisdom. -Fawne+Sebastian

There are so many products that are available for photographers to purchase, and sometimes it can be difficult to decipher between smart and not-so-smart investments. After seeing Richard and Amy’s work and elegant branding, and using their actions, I knew that any resource they put together would be top-notch. I have been so pleased with my purchase. Everything is laid out beautifully, and the content and challenges are very thorough and beneficial. I also really appreciate the year-long access, as it gives me the opportunity to soak everything in. I have been challenged by this workshop to really dig into the art of photography! -Abbie McFarland

I have been to a few workshops and been part of another online workshop and Red Leaf’s Online workshop has been the most rewarding by far. The content is great, the actions are amazing and what’s best… you have a full year to go over everything – at your own pace, over and over again until it really sinks in. Content is added throughout the year to keep it fresh and it’s written in a very understandable, easy to read language.  Amy and Richard are brilliant at what they do and their willingness to share their knowledge is commendable, inspiring and something I’m very thankful for. -Kelly MacDonald

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank for so openly sharing your business practices with the world. From the very beginning I have put great efforts into my branding and thought I had it down to a science. Until I registered for the Redleaf Online Workshop that is. I didn’t realize just how much I could improve on my client experience, especially with my pricing guide which has always been more than a few pages but never quite the caliber it could have been. I was hesitant at first about making the investment into your online workshop but have thoroughly enjoyed working my way through the different categories and workbooks, more specifically the sections dedicated to workflow and marketing. Just awesome. Again, thank you! -Clayton Austin

I hope to someday be as inspiring to other photographers as Amy and Richard have been for me.  I have been absolutely crazy about their work for some time now, and now through their workshop I can enjoy it even more.  Now I am not asking myself, “How did they capture that shot?”  Now I find myself, trying different compositions, different lenses, different lighting and loving photography all over again. Thank you for sharing all your passion with others who truley know what great captures are all about.  -Leslie Caldwell

Red Leaf Studios has been one of my favorite photo couples, love the magic in their pictures and the vibe that emerges from their sessions, when they launched the tutorial site I was so excited and ready to learn from them!  Thanks for opening and sharing your world with us!  -Fer Juaristi

I have been DYING to take a workshop this year, but every time I’ve found one I want to attend, I’ve already had something planned or it just hasn’t worked out.  So you can imagine my excitement when I heard about the Red Leaf Online Workshop.  Red Leaf Online Workshop is created by Richard and Amy of Red Leaf Studios. If you’ve not checked out their work, the word that best describes their amazing photography is ethereal. Their imagery is simply stunning.

Their workshop consists of videos, workbooks, and samples of their work. They cover categories such as art and photography, capture and workflow, camera gear, inspiration, marketing, Photoshop and resources. You can print out all of the workbooks, and have access to the rest of the site for a year. It also comes with a texture and a few Photoshop actions. I try to keep it somewhat simple in my own Photoshop work, and their Autoflow action has become my new best friend. There are also challenges designed to help you think differently when shooting.

After digging into the site for a couple of weeks now, this is surely one of the best investments I’ve made in my photography education. I love Richard and Amy’s style, and all the information is helping me to be a much better photographer – to see and capture differently. I originally chose the online workshop because in-person workshops weren’t working with my schedule; now I couldn’t be happier this was the case! All the information presented is overwhelming, and I’m glad I’m able to access it, process, and re-read and re-watch for an entire year. I’m sure all this information in a one day workshop would be a lot to take in.

I also think it’s advantageous there are so many different mediums in the workshop. I learn best by reading, so I’ve really taken to the workbooks. But it’s also difficult to follow multiple steps on paper when trying to learn new Photoshop techniques, so I appreciate the videos. One of my favorite sections of the site is also their Inspired category. They link to many different photographers, none of them wedding. Reaching outside the industry and seeing others’ work is helping me to approach my shoots with a new mindset.

Overall, I cannot more highly recommend this course. I think the content is suitable for both beginners and experienced photographers. It is well worth the investment!  – Courtney McManaway Photography

I’m so excited to be able to use your online workshop throughout the year ahead. I’m not new to photography but am just getting started in portraits as a business. Having your workshop as a resource will be extremely helpful since I’ll be starting out from square one. Even though I’m sure I’ll make my share of mistakes in my first year, having your vast experience as my guide will certainly give me a much greater chance to succeed. As a visual person, I appreciate how beautiful the layout and presentation is. All the information is clear and your lovely examples make it much easier for me to understand than simply reading a written text. I find that when I login, it’s become a time of relaxation and inspiration rather than feeling overwhelmed by all I need to learn. I love that I can go back to any category again & again once I’ve had a chance to try things on my own. I’ve started playing around with your actions and find them subtle and timeless, needing very few adjustments. And, of course, I’ll be looking forward to any new content you might add.  -Poppy Barach

I have had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Light and Perspective Workshop taught by Richard and Amy of Red Leaf Studios one year ago. To say it changed my business and my photography would be very much an understatement. I took so much away from their professional teaching methods and their willingness to share all of  their knowledge of not only how they run their business, but also their methods for capturing subjects, inspiring their subjects, and inspiring and pushing themselves to create such beautiful art. I also found that by changing my methods of shooting with my histogram and my post processing to more simpler methods, I was able to reduce my computer time to a fraction of what I was spending prior.

I have now had a chance to experience their newest online workshop.  Not only does it cover the information that we learned in the Light and Perspective Workshop, but it covers so much more! I found myself lost in the reading and watching the video tutorials several times. I know that Richard and Amy have poured their heart and soul into this project and it shows after looking at all the beautiful details and all of the amazing examples and all of the incredible learning workbooks included.  They have many years of knowledge in this industry and they are sharing openly all of their methods for creating the images that have made them stand out as both originators and innovators in a very large industry.  -Michelle Loewen Photography

I have attended a few different in-person workshops as well as done a couple online courses in the last few years.  In the past I have preferred in-person to online…… BUT when I heard that Richard and Amy were putting together an online workshop, I knew immediately that it would be amazing!  One thing I have to say about any Red Leaf Studios workshop, whether it be in person or online, they will meet and EXCEED your expectations.  When I first logged into the workshop site, I didn’t even know where to begin looking, I wanted to see everything at once!

I originally started off this paragraph saying “My favorite thing about this way of learning……”  But then I realized I don’t have one favorite thing, there are many, many favorite things about it!!  First of all, the fact that the opportunity to really let the information soak in is there because you can access the information over and over.  Often during an in-person workshop you hear things that you intend to remember and apply to your business but there is so much information coming at you at once that it is hard to absorb.  That is the great thing about this workshop, you can take notes, re-read the workbooks, re-watch the videos, study the examples etc.  Watching Richard and Amy shoot in the video & seeing what is happening behind the scenes and then the resulting images is eye opening.  The video in my opinion, is far more valuable than trying to shoot at a workshop when everybody is concerned about snagging those portfolio shots instead of studying the instructor and what they are doing & what you can learn from them.  I have always been in love with Richard and Amy’s insanely gorgeous detail shots and learned some great tricks to get those “how in the world did they do that?!” type shots!  If you don’t know what a histogram is….. (or don’t think it is important) what you learn about the histogram will change how you shoot forever!  You will know by looking at it in an instant if your image is properly exposed.  From the very first challenge I attempted, it made me say “aaahhhh” and I learned something about myself and the way I shoot immediately.  Doing these challenges definitely got me to get out of my comfort zone!  (and they were fun!)

Obviously I could go on, but it all boils down to this: it is so evident that this online workshop is the result of many, many hours of hard work.  Richard and Amy have chosen to share without holding back & the photography industry has the opportunity to benefit from their years of experience and knowledge.  (Plus, learning from the comfort of your own home is pretty nice!  No hotels, travel expense or time away from family!)  -Laurie Ann Photography

All workshops are not created equal.  The photography industry is inundated with many different types of workshops.  Everywhere you look now it seems someone is offering one of some sort.  I tend to question the reason behind such creations and whether or not they are valuable.  I wonder if the photographer poured as much love and thought into it as they could have.  I also ask such things as … Am I paying for a name?  How much should this knowledge cost?  Will I get my money’s worth?  Is it worth my time?  To me, the motive behind a workshop is just as important as the workshop itself.  After all, you wouldn’t want to learn something from someone who really doesn’t care, right?  A great workshop needs a great teacher.  Richard and Amy are just that.

When I found out about this workshop I was immediately intrigued and excited.  After all, it hasn’t really been done in the wedding photography world in such detail – if at all.  Its different than all workshops out there.  Its not too much information packed into 1 day.  Its not a “shoot-out.”  It’s not trendy or a gimmick.  It’s a straightforward lesson.  It’s “here’s what we do, this is how it can benefit you.” It’s extremely valuable information every photographer should know.  Every photographer, from the 1st year amateur to the veteran professional, can learn from these lessons.

But like I mentioned earlier, the motive behind the workshop is so important.  I know Richard and Amy.  I know they adore photography.  They are artists and want to excel at what they do.  And they put so much love, effort and soul into this project.  All to make you a better photographer.  Its well thought out, well planned, well written and well designed.  Its not 1 day … its 1 year.  You have 1 year to go through every lesson – as many times as you wish.  Every video can be looked at over and over.  Every challenge can be taken multiple times.  That is valuable.  That is knowledge.  That will make you a better photographer.  And in the end, that is what should happen.  Use the knowledge you are given and you will be a better photographer. -Michael Smith | Ash Imagery
